History

The Jones Company's narrative began in 1927 with John E. Jones, the company's founder. Bob Jones, John's son, bought The Jones Company from his father in 1961. The Jones Company was led to great success by Bob Jones and his partner, Howard Chilcutt, who grew the company and built homes for over 15,000 families.

Bob and Howard sold The Jones Company's St. Louis business to Centex in 2003. Howard then created Consort Homes in St. Louis in 2005. Former President of The Jones Company in St. Louis, Ken Stricker is now President of Consort Homes in St. Louis and The Jones Company of Tennessee in Nashville. The Chilcutt and Jones families still own The Jones Company of Tennessee today.
